What Is a Hashtag

Using hashtags on Twitter

Definition: The # symbol, called a hashtag, is used to mark keywords or topics in a Tweet. It was created organically by Twitter users as a way to categorize messages.

Using hashtags to categorize Tweets by keyword:

  • People use the hashtag symbol # before a relevant keyword or phrase (no spaces) in their Tweet to categorize those Tweets and help them show more easily in Twitter Search.
  • Clicking on a hashtagged word in any message shows you all other Tweets marked with that keyword.
  • Hashtags can occur anywhere in the Tweet – at the beginning, middle, or end.
  • Hashtagged words that become very popular are often Trending Topics.
I have seen hashtags everywhere and now i know what they are. I think its a great invention maybe we could apply it to other things.

XBOX One

The new Xbox was revealed a couple Tuesdays ago. One of the first and least exciting features the XBOX One as it has been dubbed, is it will finally get the blu-ray player instead of dvd drive. Among some of the other new features is the new Kinect sensor that sees players in a whole new way. The graphics have been upgraded and also the processor.
  • 8 Cores

An 8-core x86 processor lets you instantly switch between a game and your entertainment apps with ease.
  • HDMI Pass-Thru

    Connect your cable or satellite
box to your Xbox One and
    prepare for lift off. HDMI
    pass-thru enables you to watch
    TV through your Xbox, which
    makes switching inputs seem
    almost pre-historic.1
  • Loaded with
    memory

8GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive give you plenty of memory for your games, demos, movies, apps, music, and more.2
  • Blu-ray

    Watch movies and play games
    in stunning HD with a
    Blu-ray player.

Net Neutrality

Net neutrality (also network neutrality or Internet neutrality) is the principle that Internet service providers and governments should treat all data on the Internet equally, not discriminating or charging differentially by user, content, site, platform, application, type of attached equipment, and modes of communication.
Let’s remind ourselves first of what net neutrality means in practical terms: the idea that all services get treated equally on the internet. Some real die-hards will argue that it should mean the banning of traffic management, but that’s unworkable and frankly it clouds the debate. What we are really talking about is maintaining a truly open and competitive market for internet services.
Blocking and throttling services is a flagrant and very widespread abuse – European regulators have estimated that 236 million mobile subscribers in Europe are blocked from using Skype – so obviously it will be good to see that go. But what about more subtle attempts at favoring some services over others, such as Deutsche Telekom’s current ploy?

Cloud Computing

Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is a new way for companies to utilize the internet for backups, storage, the visualization of operating system's, and so much more. Industry experts foresee that this trend will continue to grow over the next few years. Some of the benefits of cloud computing are its cost efficiency, its "almost" infinite storage, its ability to perform back up and recovery procedures, and automatic software integration. While all of these are great features cloud computing also has a few downsides. Technical issues, security issues, and the proneness to attack are a few to note. As with all new technology you have to outweigh the odds in what you are willing to gain and what you are willing to risk. Technology can prove to be a great asset to your company, it could also cause harm if not understood and used properly.
